Introducing the Manhattan and New York State Map by ITMB

Although ITMB has published a map of Manhattan several times, this is the most recent version and marks the first time we have included a map of New York State on the second side of the sheet.

Manhattan Map Features

This side offers an excellent map of the core of New York City, perfect for navigating the vibrant city.

New York State Map Highlights

The other side of the sheet features a brilliant map of New York State, which stretches:

• From the Canadian border to Pennsylvania,
• From the eastern extent of Long Island to Buffalo.

By the shape of the state, the map also includes portions of surrounding areas:

• Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, and northern New Jersey.

A Gateway to Exploration

While most visitors using the Manhattan map likely fly into one of NYC’s airports, this map provides an opportunity to extend the journey and explore the many charms of New York State, such as:

• Hudson Valley: Loaded with historical points of interest, including:
  • Huguenot houses near Poughkeepsie,
  • Vanderbilt mansion,
  • Homes of Eleanor Roosevelt and the Van Burens.
• Woodstock Festival site: Located a little to the west.
• Corning glass: Further west.
• Niagara Falls: A must-see in the far west of the State.

Historical Context

Interestingly, the far west part of New York State did not become part of the USA until 1796, when the British moved the capital of British North America (Canada at the time) from Fort George to what is now Toronto.

This map is perfect for visitors arriving from Canada or via the Interstates from other parts of the USA, offering a detailed and engaging view of both Manhattan and the expansive beauty of New York State.
