Indonesia ITMB

The hundreds of islands making up the island nation of Indonesia make a double-sided map inevitable in order to show any significant amount of detail.

Side 1: Western Half

• Coverage: Sumatra (upper left), Java, and most of Borneo (Kalimantan Province to the Indonesians).
• Inset Maps:
  • A large inset map of central Jakarta (for better detail, see our separate map of the city).
  • Additional inset maps for Sumatra, Java, and Borneo.
• Other Areas Included: Bali, Lombok, and Sumbawa islands (lower right portion of the map), most of Malaysia and all of Singapore (included due to proximity).
• Notable Features: The infamous volcanic island of Krakatoa, located just to the west of Java.

Side 2: Eastern Half

• Coverage: Sulawesi, Flores, New Guinea (West Irian Province), and Timor – the less-travelled and therefore more interesting eastern islands.
• Komodo National Park: Home of the fierce lizards called Komodo Dragons.
• Ferry Routes: Shown between the islands; they are quite reliable but subject to weather conditions.

Indonesia is a very large country, and this map provides good detail. However, due to the vast area it covers, ITMB has published several sectional maps with an improved scale for touristic areas. These include:
