• Built-in speaker and microphone for sending 30-second voice messages, even without mobile coverage. Pair it with the Garmin Messenger™ app to read transcribed voice messages on the colour display.
• Use the touchscreen keyboard to exchange text messages directly on the device, or connect to the Garmin Messenger™ app to:
  • Exchange text messages.
  • Send emojis and reactions.
  • Start a group chat.
• Photo sharing: Pair the device with your compatible smartphone using the Garmin Messenger app to share photos of your adventure. You can also view received photos directly on the device's colour display.
• Interactive SOS messaging: Send an SOS message with your GPS coordinates to Garmin Response, a 24/7-staffed international coordination centre, for emergency help. Messages are sent via the global Iridium satellite network, eliminating the need for tower-based mobile phone coverage.

The internal, rechargeable lithium battery offers impressive life based on usage:

• Up to 14 days at a 10-minute tracking send interval with standard activity recording and full sky view.
• Up to 4 days with moderate tree cover (default).
• Up to 5 days at a 10-minute tracking send interval with high-detail activity recording and full sky view.
• Up to 2 days with moderate tree cover.
• Up to 30 days at a 30-minute tracking send interval with standard activity recording and full sky view.
• Up to 10 days with moderate tree cover.
• Up to 1 year when powered off.
